"Anakin... come join me, to the dark side" said Darth Vader to Anakin Skywalker in the epic movie, Star Wars. Well, its not that Hakim joining some thugs. Instead, he was send for the in- house Steersman course at Brani Base. Some will think, "You are going to ORD soon, why go?". Well first, you'll get to change your white badge to black colour. Second, the chances of you going to KINS for reservist is lower. Now who don't want that.
Its a one week course, with a theory and Oral test at the end. Therefore, the whole week was cramp with; Rules of the Sea, Emergencies at Sea and Navigational Aids at the Sea(Traffic lights at the sea). Even the time spend with Nadia, the mind was not at ease. It was to occupied with the modules. After the one week, it was time for the theory test. It was a give away test, provided you pay attention in the class. If you passed, you'll be send for the Oral test. The thought of you in the Captain's office, one to one, he asked you, you answer... Its sound so intimidating.
Out of 25 officers, only 21 passed the theory test. Those who pass was ask to wait in the class room. The first day, only 4 people came out smiling while , 7 more came out with a blank expression. The rest was to be tested on the next day.
The next day, Hakim was the third person to be call. In the end, all 10 of them passed their test. Finally, the mental and physical torture was over.
